BACKGROUND
Started in 2007 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Instance is the design practice of Lisa Maione. Clients range from educators to architects, community organizations to artists, researchers, cultural institutions and writers. Prior to Instance, Lisa spent time as an assistant art director at the architecture+design publication Metropolis magazine and had the opportunity work at several great design studios including mgmt. design, Wolff Olins NY and Pentagram.
Concurrently teaching courses in design as a part-time faculty member at Parsons The New School for Design and Queens College CUNY in New York City, Lisa studied graphic design at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
